About me
I am Paweł Potacki. Since 2015, I have been building and maintaining websites, online stores and technical tools. I am most useful when a problem spans more than one layer: the application, database, cache, integration and server.
How I approach technical problems
I start by defining the symptom, constraint and a way to verify the result. Only then do I choose the tool. Sometimes a code or configuration change is enough; sometimes the right answer is to simplify a process that has accumulated unnecessary plugins and workarounds.
I work with WordPress, Craft CMS, WooCommerce, PHP, Linux, Varnish, Cloudflare and automation. The goal is not merely to ship a change, but to leave a system that can be understood and maintained later.
Technology should make work easier, not add more complexity
I do not treat a web platform as a random collection of plugins, themes and external services. A good system should be understandable, maintainable and ready for the changes that appear after launch.
In my work, I look not only at how the website looks, but also at code structure, backend response time, image loading, cron processes, sitemaps, cache, form security, integrations and later maintenance.
Very often, the biggest gain does not come from adding a new feature. It comes from removing the unnecessary layer that slows the whole system down.
Useful Hardware Should Stay Useful
Part of my work goes below the usual web development layer. I also work with Android tooling, ADB, bootloader workflows, kernel logs and device recovery projects.
I do not like when functional hardware becomes electronic waste only because software support ended or maintenance access was restricted. This is one of the reasons why open-source Android and recovery-related work matters to me.
It is a practical type of engineering: understand the system, find the blocker and keep useful hardware working where it is technically possible.

Neurodiversity and the Way I Work
Neurodiversity affects the way I analyze problems. I can stay with one technical issue for a long time, follow details across logs, code and configuration, and notice things that are easy to miss during a quick review.
It also makes me sensitive to interface overload. A well-designed system should help users complete a task instead of constantly asking for their attention.
